Deposit Terms and Policies

Non-Refundable Deposit Policy
Deposits are non-refundable, except where required by law.
If you cancel, do not show up, or arrive outside the agreed pickup window, your deposit will not be returned.
1. What a Deposit Is
A deposit is a small payment used to reserve a pickup time and hold an item. Deposits reduce no-shows and ensure the seller can confidently hold the item for you.
2. Deposit Amount and Reservation
The deposit amount is set by the seller. Once paid, the deposit reserves your pickup time and the seller may stop offering that time to other buyers.
3. Non-Refundable Deposit Policy
Deposits are non-refundable if:
- You cancel
- You do not show up
- You stop responding
- You arrive outside the agreed pickup window
- You change your mind about the item
Deposits are only refunded where required by applicable law.
4. When a Refund May Apply
A refund may apply only in limited situations, such as:
- A refund is required by law, or
- The seller cancels and is unable to complete the pickup as agreed
If a refund is issued, it will be processed back to the original payment method.
5. Platform Fee
ShowdUp.com charges a platform fee per deposit transaction. This fee is deducted from the deposit amount and is non-refundable.
6. Payment Processing Fees
Payment processing fees are charged by the payment provider and are separate from ShowdUp.com's platform fee. Processing fees are typically deducted from the amount routed to the seller and are non-refundable.
7. Deposit Application
When you successfully complete the transaction by appearing at your scheduled pickup and purchasing the item, your deposit will be applied toward the total purchase price. Sellers are responsible for properly crediting the deposit amount.
8. Disputes and Chargebacks
If you file a chargeback or payment dispute, we may request details about the pickup arrangement and communications. Disputes are handled by the payment provider under their policies, and outcomes may vary.
9. Seller Responsibility and Item Condition
ShowdUp.com facilitates scheduling and deposit handling, but the seller is responsible for:
- Describing the item accurately
- Completing the pickup arrangement
- Ensuring buyer instructions are clear
10. Platform Role and Disclaimer
ShowdUp.com is a scheduling and deposit collection platform. We facilitate transactions but are not responsible for refunds between buyers and sellers. We do not hold, manage, or have control over deposit funds beyond processing. ShowdUp.com bears no liability for deposit transactions, disputes, or any issues arising between buyers and sellers.
